The Significance of Jay-Z's "Decoded"

So this past Wednesday I copped the Jay-Z "Decoded" book and have some thoughts to share.

First of all there are a lot of rumors and accusations around Jay as a person. I hear them, I read about them, but they have no merit to me.

Second, the book is insanely well written (not grammatically, but thought provokingly) and it's a book of incredible insight and in-depth analysis of what makes hip hop, hip hop. Many negative connotations come up when the term "rap" music is used. Even today. But the Jay book gives greater meaning to the words we've heard for years--multiple times.

Great read. I recommend. Bought it Wednesday and finished by Friday, it was that good.
